Mei Li, PhD
Mei Li leads research at PepSense. She is a biochemist with more than a decade of experience in biotherapeutics research and bioassay development, spanning academic research in China, pharmaceutical R&D in Hong Kong, and eight years leading research in the Cambridge, Massachusetts biotech corridor.
She spent eight years at Synlogic as Director of Biotherapeutics Research, where her work centered on biochemistry and bioassay development. Before that she was a Senior Research Scientist at Lee's Pharmaceutical Holdings in Hong Kong, and a Research Associate at the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 2024 she has also worked as an independent research consultant.
At PepSense she owns the standard everything is held to: how studies are appraised, how evidence is graded from in-vitro through FDA-approved, how compound profiles are verified, and how regulatory filings are tracked. If a claim cannot be traced to a primary source, it does not ship.
